Hi, I think maybe good to read.

Anyways, I am in the field and have mixed feelings about it, I think the only thing I can do is just share with ya'll the information.

I understand that they'd want to have these deposits to avoid people fleeing after they've learned the job and got some working experience. But keeping the deposit if you fire the worker is plain wrong, there's no rationale for that, except greediness and abuse.

Modern slave labor. Is there a list of upcoming movies they are working on, so we can threaten boycott?

As a former PF L.A. worker, it's pretty sad to see them treating workers like indentured servants. You shouldn't have to put down a security deposit to get a job. PF should instead offer bonuses for staying. Every 6 months they could pay bonuses to the employees that grow in size. Why punish when you can reward. Then perhaps they would have people stay longer than 2 years.

It is unacceptable but unfortunately most film industries in India are based around similar standards. Prime Focus are just adhering to the general practice. The problems are deep rooted and will require a complete restructuring to address.
