Is there a remote out there I can use (either wired or wireless) to control my autofocus on my 5D when I have my camera up high on a jib, in random positions, etc??

You can also use the Canon EOS Utility running on a laptop connected either via a USB cable or using on of those expensive Canon WFT devices.

focus is a little jumpy - but that is the canon protocol.
