Long time Panasonic user looking to upgrade sometime in the 6 months or so to two new cameras for my Wedding company. The new PMW200 peaked my interest and with a family discount (brother works for Sony) I might be able to actually afford two of these things. We'll see. From all I've ready Sony cams look great, sharp, handle fairly well and are great in low light. But I also know all CMOS cameras have an issue with flash banding when flashes start popping off at events. The new Panasonic HPX250 has some sort of flash banding compensation option built in which takes care of that issue for the most part, but how do Sony cameras handle flashes?
It's not a make or break issue, but I'm just curious as I've followed mostly Panasonic's line and don't know much about the Sony cameras under $10k.
Thanks!

IINM, Sony doesn't have any sort of in-camera compensation. But they do have some sort of software utility that can attempt flash banding compensation during transferring the footage to a computer.

How does Sony CMOS cameras handle flash banding compared to Panasonic cameras?
