New Shot Specific DSLR Courses coming

    Hey all,

Just want to let you know of a new set of courses coming out for DSLRs in the next 8 weeks. Pretty excited about them as we're taking a new approach based on feedback from a number of different people.

Right now the courses are called "InfoTech's One Shots" Sadly I think I will be changing this due to Marvel's shorts!

To put it quickly, the tutorials are really walkthroughs based on a type of shot (The first one will be for a music video) if you like the shot, you select the Tutorial, and it will walk you through the ENTIRE process:

    Room size
How to light it (Focus on Low cost ligthing)
How to set up your camera
    Shooting
    all needed post

Here's another cool thing.. "Which camera? you ask?" Every walk through will contain specific instructions and steps for the following cameras:

    RED EPIC & Scarlet
    Canon 5D
    Canon 7D
    Canon T3i & T4i
    Panasonic GH2

So you'll have the option of picking the camera you have, and the shot you want.. And we show you how to get it.

So you know these are meant to be basic courses, not for the real advanced. And yes some memberships give you access to all courses for all cameras. There will also be a free membership to some cool classes as well.

We've been focusing mainly on RED ONE, RED EPIC and SCARLET, and will always support these cameras, but the DSLR world is huge, and we've been getting request for them for a long time. However, I always felt this market had more than enough video tutorials, however many of our members came back with, "yeah that's true, but it's hard to connect the dots!" Lighting and shooting for a Canon 5D is VERY different from a T3i.. So we're going to do it our way and see how well they are recieved.

I'm not going to post a website for this cause we're not ready.. But I did want to tell you what was up and about to happen.

Personally I also think it's real cool to be able to see the SAME class with different cameras so you can see how the camera affects different aspects of the production.

As always I love your feeback.

    Jay

Thanks Victor.. I need all the encouragement I can get.. Been doing video tutorials for a long time, but this is a HUGE project.. I sure hope people find some use from this.. It's born out of my frustration seeing THOUSANDS of tutorial online, but nothing that takes you from one thing to the next, all the way to the finished piece.

One guy said, "Screw TEACHING me the camera.. Just show me how to get this FU(#$)* SHOT!!!"

At first I thought "lazy bastart" but as I thought about it.. That's how I learned.. By hitting my head aginst the wall trying to get a speficic shot.

If this works. it will be great.

Seems a little strange for very basic, not very advanced courses with folks who are shooting on the RED camera. A bit of an incoherence actually...

Good catch Yoclay... Oops on my part.. I need to make this more clear. Our RED102 course (The course for EPIC and SCARLET) are VERY large.. Over 30 videos and counting. The courses I am describing above are mainly for DSLR users but this is by no means how we teach the RED Courses.. We're just adding them to the RED courses because there have been some members that would like a step by step on using EPIC or SCARLET from beginning to end. But as you have pointed out.. The RED classes go far beyond this in general.

    Thanks for the catch.
