All,

I'm (still) using Avid Xpress DV 3.5 on a Windows XP PC, and I am having a problem exporting my current project as a QuickTime movie, so I can then make a DVD.

I swear that for all my past projects using Xpress DV, I used these settings for exporting as a QuickTime movie:

Video Format width x height: 720x480 crop/pad, Color Levels: 601, File Field Order: single field, Pixel Aspect Ratio: 4:3 non-square

But now when I use these settings, specifically the width and height of 720x480 crop/pad, my quicktime movie is vertically squashed a bit. The only aspect ratio I can use that looks correct is 720x544 (I think it was 544... 5-something - I'm not in front of the machine right now), and using "size to fit", which then takes much longer to export, and the quality of the resulting video is not as good as it should be.

So, anyway, I can't figure out how I used to export as 720x480 and have the video come out with the correct aspect ratio. What might I be doing wrong?

FYI: I am shooting with a AG-DVX100, and importing the DV tapes over firewire directly into Xpress DV.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Bret
