I'm probably late to this, but just happened to notice it. Looks like an EX1R update with 50Mbps 4:2:2 recording.

Some of those rumored specs look pretty sweet, especially 4:2:2, 1/2 inch sensor and 5.1 lb weight. I guess we will know more on 7/26.

I love the 14x lens on the EX1: mechanical iris with f/stops on the lens, not some lame mini-dial; mechanical focus ring with repeatable focus points and hard stops, not a magic ring that rotates forever. I've been hoping Sony wouldn't go the dumbed down route as on the Canon XF series or the Panasonics which have these enormous zoom ratios and a correspondingly over-sized footprint.

has anyone been able to determine if this is a 1 chip or 3 chip sensor?
EDIT: just found it. 3-1/2".

The 14x zoom is a result of the 1/2" chips. Someone who understands lenses to chip sizes can explain why, but there's a physical reason why Sony could only go to 14x. I'll take the reduced zoom capability to gain the benefits of a larger chip set anytime.
50mbps, 4:2:2 is a big reason to celebrate. That, and the better low light ability, cleaner image and depth of field available with the 1/2" chipset. I expect the image from the PMW200 to be noticeably superior to the EX1R/3, certainly in post production.

It's worth noting the PMW-200 will have timecode and genlock, features previously reserved for the EX3.
Also, the wifi module and 50mbit codec may mean wireless video transmission is possible.Sony F35 with SR-R1 SRMemory Recorder

Looks like a pretty nice cam. Anyone know why these cams don't have the 1080p60 capability yet? If they could make it simply a firmware update on a camera like the Panasonic AC160a, how could the other pricier cameras like this and HPX250 not yet have that option? Any other cams under $8k with that capability? Could this be a firmware update for others too in the future for this camera?
Also, do any of these sony cameras have flash banding compensation?
