    Hi all,

I am new to the GH2. I just got it yesterday and I am trying out some hacks but can't seem to get the right one.

Basically I want a hack that will allow 1080/24p shooting, 720/60p for slo-mo, Low light, and a good Mbit rate for SD cards (I have a TDK 32GB class 10 and two Toshiba 16GB class 10).

So far I have tried a few but I am getting the below error when I shoot more than 5 seconds:

"Motion Recording was cancelled due to a limitation from the writing speed of the card"

What does this mean? are my cards not good enough?

    Thanks guys!

    Basically that's it.

Many card brands do not live up to claimed specs, and some of the firmware modifications (hacks) by pushing the bitrates up like they do exceed what many (if not most) cards can take. I've followed this issue with Canon DSLRs since the T1i came on the market and the brand I see the fewest complaints about is SanDisk.

Also seems to be one of the pricier brands.

Transcend seems to do better than most of the other "bargain brand" cards but there are still enough complaints to keep me from trying that brand, although many will speak favorably of it.

You want SanDisk Extreme or Extreme Pro 30MB/s or faster. The more extreme bitrate hacks will need the 45MB/s or 95MB/s versions.

DO NOT TRUST EBAY VENDORS FOR THESE! SanDisk is the most counterfeit brand on the market and most fake cards come off ebay. Order from B&H and you're pretty much assured of getting the real thing. Their prices are as competitive as they can make them. Pay the price, swallow hard and march on...

    Cheers Bruce,

I got it working in the end. I'm not sure what the problem was but as soon as I changed the it record as HD it was ok. I love this camera but coming directly from an EX1 it's going to take some time to get used to.

Do not trust those cards on anything important to you or for pay. You should NEVER have had that error NO MATTER WHAT setting you had your camera on.

Just use flowmotion 2. It does everything you need, and it's solid. Im using basic class 10 cards.

I wouldn't go that far. Toshiba is a Japanese brand, that means quality. It may be that the cards do not have the requisite MBPS.
