seems something is coming from Sony Professional on July 26th...
...wild guess: either a F5 or en EX-5 with 2/3rd inch sensor...

Nothing more healthy than an unsubstantiated speculation.

If cinematography wasn't infinite, I'm sure I would have found the end by now.

I still use my EX-1 on about 40% of my jobs (F3 on the rest) and would be thrilled with a 2/3" sensor at 50mbs 422 10 bit internal on a new EX-?. We will see..

    Yep,
use my ex-1 also still very often...
and a 2/3rd EX would be tempting...
don't know if i did if i had the 14x zoom lens for the f3 though... wish they made a 2.8 4x zoom with AF and Stabilization for the f3...
    that'd be an instant purchase...

Wild speculation or not, here's to the idea. I'd pop the $ for that instantly.

Depending on price, I'd purchase an EX5 with 2/3 sensor. Especially if it had S-log.

Sony already has a 2/3", 50mbps, 4:2:2, SxS camera - the PMW500. Bu it's only 8-bit, which I understand is the limit for all MPEG-2 XDCAM cameras.

Exactly. Sony will not be giving the world a $6,000 2/3" 10-bit 4:2:2 camera when they have a $20,000+ (8-bit) version on the market. Not to mention the PMW-350 which is 2/3" as well.

I could see an updated EX-1 with the 50mbps codec, 1080p60 and maybe some better ergonomics.

    +1

They don't need a new big chip camera, they don't need a new shoulder mount (only if it's a s35 shoulder mount), what they do need to do is update the EX1 and EX3 cameras. And if they put 2/3 chips in there, woohoo But I doubt that they would do that.

They are announcing the "next big thing" so judging from this it should be something substantial.
