Beautiful pictures, loved the mood. All the cameras cut seamlessly together. Also very nice motion graphics and sound design - just the right amount of "high tech" mood. Your last Garmin video with the guy challenging himself in the mountains was also top notch. Keep up the good work!

Who cares about the camera :-)

Great shots, foley sounds, awesome graphics and animation. The grading I'm not sure. Maybe more color and contrast would have taken first stage from the Garmin.

I really liked it regardless of camera. I think that most cameras in that kind of lighting could have done good.

    Hi All,

    thanx!

yep, camera is not the issue any more... ;-)

but it seems that over the pond in the US people like more contrasty/saturated look,
whereas us here tend to favour a more flat look...

this is a commercial of a series we did for garmin so far...

I was just about to say that I loved the fact that you didn't go overboard with the grading. For me the natural look was something fresh because I am used to see for example those overly saturated greens of grass when it comes to golf. The flat pictures added some dreamy quality to the video in my opinion. It would be interesting to see the commercial with bit more contrast and see if it would change anything in the overall mood.

I'm the complete opposite of the person above me, it looked way to flat for my liking, it looked as if it was screaming out for ND filters as well, did you use them? the sun flare shot's where not that favorable, but I really, really liked the ad, great stuff.

Just watched the video third time and started to think that there should be something totally black in each picture and maybe a bit more saturation. It would still be flat but the blacks kind of need to be there.

    Hi Again,

well, i did tend to overexpose during the shoot.
we talked a lot about the look prior to shooting, and watched all the commercials for golf that are currently around...
we loved the current callaway clips (the ones that take a look at the golfer/person - phil, annika...) with their deep colors and blacks...
finally we decided to go a different route for two reasons:
we only had 2 shooting days and we couldn't get a 3min commercial done in magic hour on just 2 days...
and the deep saturated look might have made the commercial too heavy with all the grafx..

also we ditched the wonderful steadycam shots - which had the "known" look of golf broadcast coverage due to cinegamma4 on the ex-1 -
for it destroyed the "otherworldliness" / mood..

anyway, i for one would have even liked a flatter version of the spot using the tobacco look of the ungraded slog...;-)

and for some the light leaks: they're a fault in the production of either the lens or the nikon adapter..have to check... but i came to love them...
they add something organic to the picture that i like.
they're different to the flares of the c300... more JJ, haha! (can't wait for star trek 2)

    g'night from austria!
