I stumbled a couple of lights that are new to me:
Edit: Looking for a battery powered portable kit.
1.The 4Sevens XM18
$2400. 15000 lumens. Built in rechargeable battery. Cooling fan.
I called them and was told the there are 4 or 5 of them being used on the set of Glee acting as daylight illumination. Interesting.

2. The Olight X6 Marauder
$499. 5000 lumens. Built-in metal tripod mount. Tethered rechargeable battery pack. Fanless.
I'm especially interested in this. I wonder if that hotspot can be mitigated through some diffusion. If so, I could see this being part of an interview kit similar to the Sola ENG kit: http://www.dslrnewsshooter.com/2012/...-lighting-kit/

The 4sevens XM18 looks interesting. 16k lumens, rougly a 1k tungsten fresnel (correct me if I'm wrong), but honestly for that price I'd just go with a smaller HMI.

I'm a doofus and left out that I was looking for battery powered, cool & portable kit options. I must proof read my posts.
Yes, a used HMI is a great lumen for dollar option.

Interesting LED options
