Question about focusing sound.

Hiya. Is there a way in FCP or STP to somehow eliminate most if not all background nois/ambience and enhance dialog/sound that was closer to the shotgun mic? Thanks.

It depends on what kind of noise it is. A low machine hum for example might be pretty easy to reduce, reverberation from hard surfaces in the room is often much harder or impossible to remove after recording. In the Soundtrack Pro menu click Process>Noise Reduction. Google or watch YouTube videos on how to use it correctly. I've had better results with carefully a implemented Noise Gate and Channel EQ. Again, there are tons of resources that will tell you how to do this if you search for those exact terms.
