Hi. I've been trying to export from premiere cs5 to a format that will play smoothly, but having a lot of problems.
The project is premiere 2.0 and is mostly 480i footage shot with a dvx100b and some photos.
I exported the project out as uncompressed .avi 480i (lower field first) then opened a new 720p project in premiere cs5 in which I applied magic bullet frames to deinterlace it and magic bullet instant hd to upres it to 720p.
It plays a looks good from the timeline.

So I've tried all sorts of ways to export it to a file,
F4v, .mov, h264, mp4, flv... Vbr and cbr, maximum depth, etc.
And the only one that worked good enough to use was f4v, but it still had some jerky areas.

So then I just simply clicked "match sequence settings" and it changed it to .mpeg, quality 50 and virtually all the settings were grayed out. I went ahead and tried it and it worked great!
But once I copied the mpeg file to another computer it didn't play audio. ?! What is going on?
I thought I'd finally found the best solution.

To recap, the mpeg file plays great and with audio but only on the computer it was created on. I copy it to a flash drive and it plays great from there, too. But once it's on another computer it has no audio.
Any help would greatly be appreciated.

What kind of audio does it have?

What player are you using to play it with on the other computer?

Is it possible that your export from Premiere created two files (a video and an accompanying audio file)?
Seems like the we're some incidences of that in older versions . . . Can't remember for sure though, but that would explain why it plays audio on your computer you created it with . . .

    Thank you.
Playing the files with windows media player series 9 on an xp pro 32 bit machine.

They are created on a machine running vista 64 and exported via cs5.

There are two files created for each one:

    Filename.mpeg
    Filename.xmp. (which is like 22kb)

The audio that the files are supposed to have is mixed audio and music, but play no sound at all on the other computer.

I copied them both to the other computer.

The .xmp file is a metadata file so its not going to do much.

By what kind of audio, I meant what format of audio? AAC? Dolby Digital? MPEG1 Layer 3? MPEG II? What are the audio settings in the export dialog?

The audio settings along with just about everything else become grayed out as soon as I check "match sequence settings".

    The audio settings show:
    Audio codec uncompressed
    Stereo
    16 bit
    48000hz

Towards the top of the dialog box, under export settings and under match sequence settings, the format shows to be, " MPEG Preview" which is also greyed out.

The video codec shows to be MPEG I-Frame

That should work on any computer. I'd investigate what's wrong with the other computer on this one.

I have a issue with my cs6, I go into export window and i clip the format drop down list and I notice I dont see mpeg-2 at all. Whats the deal? only about 22 formats. Premiere is updated.
