Does anyone have any experience with this Jag35 GH2 Cage? http://jag35.com/gh2-dcage.html
It costs a bit more than a cage like the Shrigg Rig, but it looks very accessible to all features of the camera. I asked how they recommend mounting their cage to a rail system and they said simply mount it to a baseplate as the small size of the GH2 would balance the additional height of the cage so that devices like Follow Focus still would operate normally.

    Any thoughts?

I like it quite a bit. Its solid and well built for access to everything. As for rail systems I tried the jag system and it works though using the dfocus I had to use the raiser system to get the proper height while m43 lenses. Did a little unboxing vid here: https://vimeo.com/45623201

    Hi guys

Just to clarify, the D|Cage is a product from D|Focus Systems, not JAG35. They are one of our dealers.

We are just finishing up machining the custom rail mount brackets for the D|Cage now and they should be available in a couple of weeks (waiting on one, out-sourced, part to show up.) They will be available as an optional upgrade and probably a bundle as well.

Dave, I'm gonna grab that cage as soon as my sweet, sweet school refund check comes. (Late August, early Sept) Looking forward to actually being able to use the Redrock top handle I've had sitting around for so long.

Two different tools for two different jobs. Rails support the camera & lens while allowing you to mount a follow focus and matte box. A cage will allow you more mounting options for accessories like monitors, microphone, lights, external recorders etc. A cage also helps protect the camera from bumps and drops.

+1 Excellent response, furthermore a Cage can be turned in to a shoulder rig with proper attachments.

    Hi,

Here you have another option. CNC machined, anodized in black. Only six units from ten.

http://www.paucatlla.com/home.html (images are from prototype, not anodized in black).

    Pau.

This breaks down easier for transport too. Plus, if Panasonic releases gh5,6,7.. Down the road you wouldn't have to get a new cage each time...
