I have a Tamron 17-50 VC 2.8... Should i sell my Canon EF 50mm 1.8? Or will this still be handy too keep hold of?
Just trying to help fund a Tokina 11-16 ;)

You will get (virtually) no money from a used Canon "nifty-fifty." It's worth keeping in the bag for those times when you REALLY need an extra stop, and it will happen, even with the 17-50 F2.8. As a fast prime, it also has a certain look that may be more suited to certain situations over the zoom. Keep it until you upgrade to something more robust.
