I am looking for a decent portable preamp. Right now I am using an Art Tube preamp, which I like (especially like for its price). I will be using it with a tascam dr40 and eventually plan on sending it into the line in on the BMCC. My mics - Audio Technia U873R and NTG-2.
I don't really need two channels of the mixpre; however, perhaps I might in the future. I would like to buy only once, and not want to upgrade in one year.
Also, is there a better solution anyone can think of? I also plan on building a small metal container that will hold the preamp below the BMCC, so I am not to concered that the mm-1 does not have the 1/4" connectors.
Thanks in advance.

The MixPreD offers so much more, if money were not an issue, it is a no brainer. Also, the MixPre has below the cam mounting options, so you might not need a box.

thanks Grant, appreciate the feedback. I am leaning that way. I have just kicked myself a lot lately for going cheap and then buying the better device 6 months later, spending more money in the end.
