So I'm in school for 3d animation. This summer my plan was to get an internship at a 3d house and make some money. Despite them telling me they were interested (before school got out) I have been turned down by 6 companies each leading me on for 2 weeks each.

My next thought was that I love filming but never have time, but now I do. So I decided I wanted to make a mountain biking short. Something with a high level of quality. But I underestimated how hard it is to find people to film. Since 3 weeks ago when I decided that I was going to film, I've had one afternoon of usable filming. Which clocks in at 3 shots.

During this entire time I've been searching furiously on craigslist and other sites for some sort of filming job. Even an unpaid PA position. Nothing

I'm sorry that I had to write all that but now you know the frustrating position I'm in. I mean you would think that in LA I would find someone else who wanted to make a film or had a pa position open.

So my position is that I have access to a 7d and some gear through my school. I want to create something so that this summer isn't a complete waste. Does anyone have any suggestions on brainstorming film ideas that are doable solo or with a couple people? Or does anyone know where I can get some experience in the industry? I know a lot of people my age are probably all out there looking for PA jobs but if you have any advice I would greatly appreciate it.
