    Thanks for your advice everyone. I was not able to get the camera powered up again. Looks like it will be taking a trip to LA without me.

    Sorry man..let us know what services had to say. Have them do the optical block air gap fix, while it's there.

    I had something very similar happen to an EX-3 and it turned out to be the power circuit board. Took a week or so to get the part but they fixed it as well as did a full camera check up and some tweaks. If it is under warranty, just tell them as well that you are concerned about dust in the optical block. That might get you the fix. Good luck and we all want to know how this turns out for you.

    Exact thing happened to my F3 right after I got it! Took about 3 weeks to repair. They had to replace a board of some sort. They also replaced the optical block without me even asking, which was a nice surprise.
