    I applied the update today and then shot about an hour. Saw nothing wrong. The audio is now better.

    AGC is horrible, hiss growing in the background of quiet settings. Also have you ever recorded a thunder storm with AGC, that was a horrible surprise in how bad it can get. Manual control at least eliminates levels doing what ever they want at the worst possible time.
    You still need a quality mic and preamp to get acceptable results, but manual control in the camera is a good step in the right direction.
