    Help stop reds popping so much!

    Hi. Using S-log with the update (already had it on the camera) but enjoying new options you now have. But despite changing the settings, my reds are still too saturated and are popping too much. What setting can I use to quieten them down a little please? Have a look at the reds on these grabs (shot with S-LOG - CINE setting)

    In the Matrix, take for instance R-G. Basically the level of the first letter of the color is adjusted while the phase is adjusted for the second letter. Saturation lowering will help too, but remember this effect all (skin tones). So tread lightly.

    Thanks Jason. You know I think it may be down to the monitor I am working on. Looking at these grabs on other laptops, the colours look good!

    If you are judging color on anything other than a properly calibrated grading monitor, you are gambling.

    Probably better looking at the SDI feed playing the clip in camera to a broadcast monitor in HD (something like a Panny or JVC). This will avoid the computer route and give a good idea of colours.
