This is SUPER frustrating.
Exporting out of Final Cut Pro 7.0.3 into After Effects 7.
The footage was shot in 720p60 at 24p.
When I import into After effects, the first problem is that the aspect ratio is wrong and squished to 4:3.
The second problem is that After Effects is playing the footage back at 13.3 fps.
The third problem is that the footage is pixelated, jagged, and otherwise awful to look at.
My SFX guy is using a PC, I'm on a Mac. I get the same problems with CS4 after effects though.
Please help dvxuser you are my only hope!

If you right click on the footage in the after effects project window you can go to 'interpret footage' the options in there might be able to help you most of the way. Here you can change the frame rate and pixel aspect ratio.
Failing that, try rendering an uncompressed image sequence from final cut. A dpx sequence is normally a good choice. After effects deals with images sequences much better anyway.

There is a button underneath the comp window that displays a fixed aspect ratio. Click on that to see it properly in the comp.
After Effects is a compositor, not an editor. You usually won't get real-time playback unless you render first (unless you have an absolute beast of a machine). Render the section of the comp you want to preview. Also, in the same button row underneath the comp window, is a toggle setting that you can pick quality settings from. Select "FULL" if you want to see it in full resolution (at the expense of frame rate). It's either set to its lowest setting or on Auto and your computer is really old.
