    So the only way to upgrade is with an sxs card? I record to a kipro mini as my primary and use the sony sd adapter for my back up. I do not own or plan to own sxs cards since they will never be my primary recording media. Is there a way to upgrade with the sd adapter or is sony still trying to make a buck on the slog debacle. :[

    Now, with the new firmware we have sLog in gamma picture profiles. What are the best settings (detail, etc) to obtain the best material with slog in gamma mode (now we can change the parameters)?

    In my beta testing, I simply modified a couple of the Abel profiles by changing the gamma to S-Log. I believe Doug Jensen had been experimenting with some PP's with the beta as well. So, I presume that we will soon see some PPs specifically for S-Log gamma.

    Any improvement on camera boot up time? For that reason alone I stayed back a couple versions!

    I gave a try, but unless you use your incident meter to really know that you have more than 7 stops it is just more work in post. It is not sunny enough here in Miami to see a difference between Slog and std 709.
    Have to wait for a nicer day or create something in the studio, but I'm lazy today.

    Hey Douglas, hope you're well. I think the lovely skin renditions you get with SLOG are just as important as the Dynamic range, so whatever the range in light you're working with, I think it's worth having on just for this. Best, Sparky
