Why does FCPX keep Crashing????!!!

Every time I switch from proxy to original media, the program crashes. Can anyone tell me why?

what type of footage are you working with, and where is it stored, ie boot drive and media drive specs?

Also which version of FCPX. A lot of these kinds of issues can be fixed by trashing prefs-

Sorry...heres my specs.
10.7.4 OS
2.5 GHz i5 with 8gb ram
21.5 in iMac

FCPX 10.0.4.

And where is your media stored? iMac or external drive?

I'd suggest updating to 10.0.5 and then clearing out your prefs if that doesn't help. ALso remove 3rd party codecs like Perian- etc.

Hmc150 external FireWire 800. I have also tried putting the files on the internal drive with no improvement

Drives are 7200rpm
