Hi,
I am thinking of getting my first anamorphic lens, and I have come across two Lomo anamorphic lenses that seem in my price range. What I want to know is what the numbers mean in their name, and how they fit? I'm planning on using it on my Nikon D7000 for the moment, and eventually a FS100. I understand that some anamorphic lenses are add ons to normal lenses and don't directly fit onto the camera
The first one is: lomo anamorphic lens adapter 35NAP2-3M 80-110 56/2

The second one is: Lomo Projection Anamorphic lens 35 NAP 2-4 F=80-120

Thanks in advanced

These are projector lenses... not real anamorphic lenses or attachments (as in Lomo Squarefronts etc).
Look at this ebay link - it's useful as the seller describes what you're looking for and also links to a DIY mod to show how you would have to use this type of lens...

For history's sake
- the link is here http://www.ixbt.com/digimage/anamorf.shtml and the 80-140 refers to the lenses that they're designed for.

Be aware that they don't focus very closely, you can't use them closer than 9m/30ft. The more popular projector lenses focus as close as 1.5m/5ft.

Thanks for the replies.
Would you recommend the ISCO Kiptar over the lomo? On some of the videos they look sharper than these two lomosLast edited by Implicit; 06-20-2012 at 02:12 PM.
