    Hello All.

I'm in a deep s*%t i think! So I'll get right into the problem.

I was editing a documentary and i didn't feel any problem. It was Panasonic p2 footage and nle system was grass valley edius. Oh! I was running windows 7. In the middle of my editing the IT people told me that they r taking the computer for some maintenance. Now they returned the CPU and I found some of my footage (2 p2 card) corrupted. It shows some block sometimes and edius don't recognize it. and I noticed not all the footage some P2 card got corrupted.

    What to do?

    Thanks In Advance!

Are you saying the P2 cards were IN the computer when they took it away? Do you have the footage stored elsewhere? The typical way to handle P2 footage to prevent data loss is to use P2CMS, ingest the footage from the cards, and then export to an external drive array for use and storage.

Also, have you considered that there might be a problem with the computer, instead of data loss? The "maintenance" they did could have altered the hardware in a way that may have screwed up some drivers or other software that relied on it.

    Hello, Anam

To recover your corrupted footage on P2 cards, you can use Treasured:
    http://aeroquartet.com/movierepair/download.html

If footage is not visible inside files, you can do DeepMediaScan on the card with Disk > Open damaged Disk...

It is extremely hard for a P2 card to become corrupted. The only other possibility I can imagine that the P2 card is left in write enable instead of write disable. This will prevent any mod to the P2 card and ensure greater chance of not getting it corrupted. I always do this if I edit a live delay gig w/ Premiere CS6 as it writes temp file to the P2 card.
