Can't Turn on Manual Focus

Whenever I switch my AC-130 to Manual Focus it remains in autofocus. Only when I push it down to infinity does it go to manual focus, and it only does so for the duration that I'm holding it down. Thoughts?

Well...there seems to be a master "manual/auto" switch. Why would that be in there? Fixed my problem though.

So you are turning the switch up front to MF and it is still auto focusing? What position is the AUTO/MANU swith in. The functions driven by this switch is set up in a menu as well. If it is off, then there should be only Manual Focus. That is how it works on mine.

One additional thought, if you have the AUTO/MANU switch off and the camera set to MF and it is still doing an auto focus, go into the menus and find the MF Assist. Turn it off. This functio will intercept your "intention" and finish your focus for you.

Go into your menu and the auto functions and set AF to OFF !! That way by using the FOCUS AUTO/MANUAL switch you can switch from auto to manual even if the back switch is still in auto. However the AF function in the menu must be OFF first!!!
