I was reminded and got a big kick out of going back and reading this thread: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread...pers-and-hv20s
Funny how much things have changed in such a short time..

Red Tails doesn't seem like it should be in that list.

There are some excelent quotes from Shane Hulbert in the Intro and first chapter of DSLR Cinema: Crafting the Film Look with Video [Kindle Edition]
Kurt Lancaster
You can read those on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/DSLR-Cinema-Cr...der_0240815513
If that doesn't take you right to reading the book, try the "look inside" option.
Shane is one of the most head over heals, die hard evangelists for DSLR's. The first part of the book is about the history, with a lot of quotes and examples, including about Reverie, etc.
Shane talks about "This disruptive technology from a motion picture cinematographers perspective ... game changer ... paradigm shift." Sounds like exactly the brief that you are talking about.
Good luck! Tape the speech and share?
Cheers,

I think the organizers of PechKucha do record audio and drop it over top the slide deck, if they do mine I'll post the link (gulp). It might be a bit of a snore for most here as I will be speaking to a mostly layperson crowd, and from the perspective of a relative newcomer at that.
And thanks once again to all who posted thoughts and links.

Thanks! Your call on posting - I hate "exposing" myself too much in public. Too much of a perfectionist, it is very painful!

You might want to read more in the book I linked to if you haven't read it yet. It has a nice history of the early years, including a report on a 5DII presentation for cine at Sammy's in 2009, plus Phillip Bloom at Lucas' Ranch and Red Hawks, etc.
Have fun!
Michael
