I've had this camera for awhile and it's done well for school projects. But, now that I have a 5dmkii and a 60d, and even a Sony HX9V I'm wondering if this video camera is even worth using. Any thoughts?

I wouldn't consider it a brick, but would definetly use it as a door stop Seriously, it would be a great donation to a school or young filmmaker with no money to start out. Thats what I would do, I think I would donate it.

I use my VX-2100 as a VTR to play/record old MiniDV tapes. When you have an HD camera there is no reason to shoot with an SD camera ever again.

That was considered a remarkable low light performer back in the day... but it's native 4:3, interlaced, and SD. It's a brick.
