Went to use my HVX200 and after about 5 minutes noticed that there was no sound being recorded. If I move the ND filter setting theres a small blip on the levels meter on the LCD but nothing more. I plugged in an external mic via the XLR inputs and again no sound.
Anyone else had this and if so what was the problem? Repairer has a large 'no repair quote' fee!!! Had the firewire port (not he logic board) and battery tabs replaced about 18 months ago and it cost like $300 so am mighty worried about this cost wise. The camera was bought new in 2006...
Cheers

Do you have all the switches in the right places?
Are you recording PN mode variable frame rates?

Thanks for the response David, I've tried a number of things to the point I can't think of anything else to try. The image is fine just no sound in ANY setting. I remember a person asking if it was possible not to record sound to save space and was told NO!
I'm guessing due to the cameras age things are starting to pack up.
Anyone with any idea if this is likely to be a major repair or not? Repair guy won't commit to anything till he's taken a look and then its $$$ regardless.
Cheers
