Is there a way to use the DVX directly to a hard drive? I've read something about the firestore, but it's like $600. Any way possible to go directly to an external hard drive?

Firewire to Laptop via Adobe OnLocation software. Laird 36 ft. or 72 ft. 4 pin firewire cables work just fine. That is if you have a laptop that still has the firewire port.

I think the way the OP is asking... the answer is no. You have to use something like Firestore, iVDR, or OnLocation as the other poster mentions.
