First time using Lee Urban Color Effects gels. For this shoot I used 653 Lo Pressure Sodium.
    Much impressed.

That looks great. I'd never heard of these. Do they basically change red party gels into orange?

    From the Lee website: http://www.leefilters.com/lighting/c...tails.html#653

The frame on the upper right of the quad-split most accurately represents the "look".

It is if it is unnaturally yellow. High pressure sodium lights are yellow orange but low pressure sodium lights only emit yellow light. It's really odd to be in a parking lot lit only by LPS lights. Every car is a shade of yellow. It's the closest thing you'll ever have to seeing in black and white.

You can get HPS bulbs and fixtures at most big box hardware stores. Here is the search page from Home Depot.

Shane Hurlbut ASC talks about using them on his blog:

HPS is easy. It's LPS that's harder to get. Plus I heard that disposal of the bulbs are difficult as they tend to explode if the sodium comes in contact with water...
