So, let's drum up some interest in this thing. Go out to your writer palls and let them know about this. Lets fill this place up and maybe we'll get another cash prize one of these days. And maybe, just maybe we'll get some directors looking this way.

I don't know what the problem is, but it seems interest in both the script and film fests has really dropped off in the last year. The number of "looks" for entries as well as the number of entries shrinks with every fest. It's tough to get excited about a fest when you start to believe no one will read or watch it. It's too bad, as I really enjoy taking part in these things - although I'm sure Chris could do without my annoying reviews of his work. Plan to give this one a try, it's an interesting concept with plenty of room for creativity.

Seriously. I don't know what's with the drop off.
I've been trying to invite a bunch of my writer friends but I get a myriad of cheap excuses(I don't have time, I don't like writing for competitions, I don't feel like it). Very frustrating.
But I'm definitely doing this one.

I put the word out at Simply Scripts, I don't know if anyone's paying attention.

Chris,
I was thinking of tapping the newbie market by placing an ad on Craigslist.
This will hopefully give us brand new talent who are in search for a creative outlet, but still not good enough to place higher than me in the contests.

You can do some fishing over at Done Deal Pro. And I used to hang at Absolute Write some years back. Maybe some victims there as well. Course there is DVX' own screenwriter threads.

I told a guy at work and he seemed interested in writing something. Of course, I think he was inebriated at the time, but that's never stopped me....

Most of us just focus on gear... what we forget to realize is that high quality cannot save a poorly written script. Most of the time I just pass by this section and read somewhere else, but now I want to improve my script writing skill. Bear with me for now because I bet I'm going to be writing terrible scripts.
