Nice poster. How do you guys make these posters?

Thanks Chris and ZellJr! I'm not sure how others do it, but this poster was created in InDesign (part of the CS5.5 suite) and, I think, PhotoShop. If you look on the story-by credit, you'll see it lists a guy named Andy Nordfors, and he's the one who did most of the work on the poster. We discussed the concept of it, that we wanted it simple and he found the images and put everything together. I wrote the tagline (and we discussed about 20 or 30) and he found the perfect type to create the feeling we wanted. He and I have been discussing the details of Seed, so he is very familiar with the concept, and it's been - like most of our collaborations - a really fantastic experience. I suppose it's like filmmaking - a lot of the art of it comes from great partnerships. So now I just have to write the screenplay (a much more solitary act...) Thanks again.

Hi Craig, I'm new here but I thought I'd give the entries a read so here's my review. I really liked this, the writing was descriptive without being over descriptive and put some good visuals in my head. I couldn't predict where it was going which is always a good thing and I thought the ending was great. I think that Fi was a real interesting character and would be cool to see onscreen, great work.

Thanks King! I really appreciate the feedback. It was a fun one to write (despite having to leave out a lot). It was somewhat challenging to figure out just how much to describe, especially with the aliens, but decided in the end to strike something of a balance and leave some to the imagination. I look forward turning this into a feature. I have the good fortune to be working with a pretty good director in LA over the next month or so and would love to pass this along - if it's clocking in at 120+ pages. Guess I'd better get back to work. :-)

A feature sounds awesome, I could definitely see it expanded, best of luck.

The writing was effective. The story was interesting. I'm just struggling to buy Ta's motivation. Deciding to use genetic material found floating in space from an unknown species is a pretty big leap for the character in my opinion. It felt like plot motivation instead of character motivation. You needed the script to end a certain way and that's why Ta acted, instead of Ta really having a compelling reason in that moment.
Good job. Thanks for entering the fest!Chris Johnson
