Airliner seats

I'm looking to purchase some used airliner seats or construct something that will pass as some for a jet interior scene. Anyone with ideas or contacts would be appreciated. I'm located in Minnesota BTW.

Look for a nearby airplane graveyard full of scrapped airplanes and see if you can get some seats from there.

If you are in Southern California the Silver Dream Factory studio in Anaheim has standing sets including an airline mock up with seats. Its very handy to have the 'plane' all set for you to shoot (or morgue, or police station, etc.) When I shot there it was actually cheaper in the long run. Or ring the airlines and see if you can shoot in one of their planes on big maintenance in your area.

You might have to pay a fee but also offer good credits, publicity and some other inducements, like a donation to a charity of their choice.

Keep the cam, lights and crew to a minimum .. nominate your schedule and make sure you stick to it. Can't hurt to call around.
