I need some help finding a practical location for a film.
I need a 6 bedroom house, with three bedrooms and a library (or something that can be turned into a library) on the first floor. Then at the end of the hallway of those bedrooms/library I need steps up to the second floor with an additional 3 bedrooms. The exterior can't be a huge mansion, I need something a little toned back, but still large.
I'd be okay with traveling anywhere in the continental United States to film at the location.

Unless you just want to travel it would seem that contacting a local realtor or two, along with your state and local film commission offices would put you in contact with people who best know the type of location for which you are looking. If nothing develops then spread out the search a little farther. Most likely you'll find the same sort of housing in any market, so your spot would likely be located through asking enough people in the housing and location business for recommendations. Otherwise hire a location scout and pay them for doing approximately the same thing.
Good luck,
Ken
