Ok I"m new to DSLR's, but I'll do my best to explain what is going on. When I turn the camera on (full automatic mode) everything appears normal to me. As I hold the exposure button half down I get a "Busy" message in my view finder. Pressing the exposure again it acts like its taking a picture, but the Access light stays lit and won't go off. It's like its locking up if I turn the Power switch off it stays on. I have to remove the battery, or take the SD card out to get the camera to shut down. I have used three different SD cards two have been formatted on my computer, and have switched batteries several times. Also no image is stored on the card.

Do you have Magic Lantern installed? If so, is it an older build?
Also, any time you have a lockup like that, remove the battery immediately. The longer it sits there chugging, the more likely the camera is to suffer irreparable damage.Formerly known as C2V

No it is completely stock, I'll be sure to take the battery out when it happens.
Thanks

Yes, it does seem to work properly without the card (from what I remember)
