What 50mm lens to get?

Always that as well. Not sure where prices are now. I paid $45 for my Takumar 50mm 1.4 a year ago (attached to a spotmatic body). At that price it would almost be cheaper to buy a better example, but I think prices have gone up.

Prices have gone up on all older lenses! At one point they were dirt cheap, but with every post online about how lens X is the bomb, it drives the cost way up.

I got in at the right time, before the wave. I own the following Takumars

28mm 3.5
35mm 3.5
50mm 1.4
55mm 1.8
135mm 3.5
135mm 2.5
200mm 4.0

I'm missing an 85mm just because they are so pricey I haven't wanted to pop on one, using a Vivitar from the same era for that focal length that actually has excellent IQ.

I probably have $400 TOTAL in those lenses. I bought them when they were going for $30 to $50.
