    Anyone here catch it?

Heres the link to what they discussed. Formerly $15K now $3.5K. Still using FCP7 and CS5, but being able to cut, comp, colour in one app - with all the high end tools / hardware interface for grading etc has certainly grabbed my attention.

Presentation I saw demoed was buggy and crashed often.

Having run smoke, I can say that it excels in finishing, not so much in editing.

Well the attraction for me in Autodesk smoke is the ability to - as I previously stated, cut, grade and comp in one app. Rather than for example, cut in Premiere, grade in Speedgrade and then comp in AE. The NEW smoke has a GUI built into for all three components. This is an all brand new version of smoke, so whether previous versions werent really designed for cutting will be moot in the new version as clearly from the video presentations the Edit GUI is designed purposefully for this process alone. Im on the Beta version list so looking forward to trying it out.

Just saying as a smoke editor that I saw very little at NAB that would lead me to want to cut on it.

    Finish yes.

Great idea, have been looking for an integrated tool for long time. GPU accelerated PPro is currently the speed king for real-time editing in its price range. The Smoke demo, especially node based editing, looks excellent, but it also looks very slow. I rarely boot my 12-Core MacPro into OSX, however if this tool is fast & stable once released, that could change.
