I've been waiting for this, but I didn't expecting to be able to use it on my recent GoPro model, I rather expect new camera with this specification. This is great, no more macroblocking water droplets in my surfing footage!

GoPro Partners with Technicolor to Incorporate CineStyle™ into GoPro’s new Protune™ Firmware for HD HERO2
Technicolor-Certified ProTune Mode Adds 24p, 35Mbps Data Rate; Non-Destructive 3D LUT and Color Presets to Greatly Enable Professional Production Workflow... free firmware update for your Hero2 this summer

    - 24fps frame rate, enabling GoPro HERO2 content to be easily intercut with other sources without a frame rate conversion

    - 35Mbps data rate for the industry’s highest quality compressed image with virtually zero artifacts

    - Neutral color profile, allowing for greater flexibility in a color correction workflow

    - Log curve encoding, offering more detail in shadows and highlights

    - Reduced sharpening and noise reduction for improved flexibility in professional post- production and color design workflows
Get me out of this 8bit world!

I was waiting to see if they were coming out with a new one this year because I heard mention of a more professional model but this might be it. I got the first one and will pick up the 2nd one once the bugs get worked out of it after the update.

    Nice.

Lack of 24p was the one thing holding me back. Everything else is gravy.

Awesome stuff. Love my two GoPros. Just bought a third after hearing this news. Wish they'd get the WiFi BacPac out the door.

Talked to a guy at GoPro when I ordered the new Dive Housing (awesome, btw), and they are moving back the release date of this upgrade to "summer." He said end of June/early July.
