Canon XLH1 playback problem

Hi All!

When I don't use my XLH1 for 1 or 2 week then I record some footage; at playback it sometimes work and sometime don't. Only the blue screen. number on the screen don't even move.
I have to re-record , re-playback several time before it work fine.

If you face the same problem and know what's wrong, please let me know.

Sounds like it could be dirty heads. Do you mix brands of tape?

You can try and use one of those mini DV cleaning cassettes and see if it helps, otherwise you may have to send it out for servicing.

No, I don't mix brands of tape, and also already try to clean the head with those DV cleaning tape. I will consider servicing.
