Is the HPX250 good enough to be an "A" camera for a television series?
And could an AC160 match close enough for a "B" or "C" camera?

I used my 250 to shoot some footage for MSG+ and Fox Sports late last month and it went to air and mixed well with other clips they had shot previously on HDCAM. In fact after it gets ingested into the EVS and transcoded and sent to Vyvx, HTN or whatever and ends up on your TV at home any source material will loose quality. But to answer your question, yes, I think it is good enough. I was shooting 1080/60i for MSG, Fox Sports does everything in 720/60p.
Just a note, Fox Sports regional shoot 80% of their game day ENG on 160's, ever watch a Fox sports game on TV? You would be hard pressed to tell what was shot on what.

It's approved by the BBC for HD production, in-camera recording. So, yes. Channels like discovery typically have similar camera requirements.
Not sure on the AC160/130 qualifications.

Probably right on that, considering the AF100 is OK'd w/ a Nano
