Being a sealed lens, I don't think dust can enter, But I could be wrong. I recieved an xha1 with dust in the lens. They feel some dust is acceptable, at least thats what they told me. As crazy as it sounds. But dust seems to find it's way in to even the tighest seals somehow. or their building these with road work going on outside the factory.

I just bought an XF300 and at my firts test shot I saw a spot in the sky when at wide angle. It was like what happenned to me whit my old 20D. I was worried. I did another test and saw it again but not at the same place. I had the idea to shake the cam a bit and then I did another test and then there was nothing. I am worried that there is few particules somewhere inside but it didn'nt reproduced. I was thinking that maybe I was wrong but when I saw your post I question myself a lot. Pierre

Yeah, me too. Seriously have no idea. I've shot with other cameras in much more extreme conditions. Did shoot a couple hours of cycling on the cobblestones of the Paris-Roubaix bike race but conditions were much less dusty than I have shot with previous cameras such as the HVX-200, XL1, VX-1000 (showing my age).

For the record, I am still shooting with the camera, just really careful of side-light.
