Is MB worth $200? Sounds like a lot compared to motion @ $50.They're just presets, right?

Just gave the 7toX app a whirl with a short FCP 7 project. The process is pretty straight forward, in FCP 7 you simply Export XML, then in 7toX you Locate the Exported XML, it will then ask if you want to send the Project to X to create an XML file readable by FCP X.
The project I brought in transferred very well. A few audio issues, some of the Audio tracks needed to be made Mono (they were Panned center in the FCP 7 project) and the Titles were there, but the font/size was off. Very cool though for $10 - a huge timesaver and the new Keyer in FCP X is fantastic. I just tested with some Reflecmedia material and was blown away - beautiful and simple.Cheers,
Guy Cochran

multicam is working nicely so far. it handled syncing multiple clips from my 5DmkII where it would record 12 min then you have to hit record again on the 5D...prior to this update FCPX wouldnt know to put those 2 clips in a continuing sequence but so far this update accomodates multiple cut files although it puts them into seperate layers (tracks). not ideal but still livable. have yet to try all variations of things yet but what ive done works flawlessly.
another very cool thing is you can add CC or an effect to all the individual clips prior to executing your multicam edit and then the finished edit has all effects in place. very very cool.
this is great news for X as this could really be the start of whats coming in the next year or so. still missing lots of things but...if the features get added in a way that makes them considerably more powerful than they were in their initial iteration then the way of doing an old function is now much more powerful and contemporary.

So true.
If they had waited 7 months and released this as the first incarnation of FCPX then they would probably avoided most of the negative publicity. But as it is they have had 7 months of feedback to work with, and it looks like they have been listening.
Now would be the time for post-production houses to dip their toes back in, and see what makes the most sense for the future....
