I currently own a Letus Extreme, and my crew is looking to rent an EX3 for an upcoming shoot.

Problem is, I don't have the right adapter to attach the EX3 to the Letus.

My question: online retailers offer the 77mm EX3 optimized threaded ring for about $90. Or, there's a $350 combo which includes the 77mm ring plus an achromat. Is this more expensive option necessary or will the image be acceptable with no achromat?
