Hi - can anyone tell me...
- if they know what the most up-to-date firmware version is for this camera? (Panasonic AG-HMC150p)
- also, I've been looking for the panasonic page where you can find this to download it, but not sure if I found the right download... anyone have the link?
- & one last thing - I read that when you do a firmware update, you MUST use a power source (AC adapter I'm guessing) - is there any reason why you can't use the battery to do this upgrade? I have 5 hr. batteries (when fully charged)
Thanks!

-1.21
-don't have the link..google for panasonic PASS
-good question. I'd rather do a firmware update from even a partially charged battery than from an AC outlet and risk the power going out in the middle of the update. Common sense is not so common.

hi Phil -
not sure if you remember, but you have replied to a couple of my posts in regards to that playback problem i am having...
i feel like i have narrowed it down to 2 things that it can be...
1. there is some type of issue with the computer's hardware (and it is struggling to play back this footage) - I tried this footage on 2 other iMacs in the Mac store & had the same problems, so I'm wondering maybe if this is an i7 problem in general maybe... or a current video card problem that the new machines are using...?
2. firmware - this is the last thing i can think of (my camera has 1.19 firmware... maybe because its older firmware, its not writing to the card good enough for the computer to play it the right way??
Firmware question - I'm assuming you have done this? & if so, did you use the camera's battery for power as you did the upgrade? (I'm very paranoid about doing this upgrade because i read how if something goes wrong it can really screw up the camera...
- also, i agree with you about the possibility of losing power, but what if you lose power, and now the COMPUTER cuts out??
thanks for responding Phil -

Here is a link to the Pass site which has a list of the current firmware:

Hopefully this helps.

We do recommend using AC power instead of battery. The last thing you want is the power to go down in the middle of an upgrade. You could end up with no data since the first step in the process is erasing the existing data and then writing the new data. We have seen this happen twice with an HDX900 and a DVCPRO Camera. It is a big job to repair.

RBE - thanks for the response & link...
the reason why I am asking about the battery is because i don't have the AC power source for the camera...
but the batteries i have are 5 hr. batteries when fully charged - I asked a panasonic rep, & he said the battery should work fine - i just didn't know if there was a specific reason why they tell you that you "have to" use an AC power source...
just want to be sure the battery is sufficient enough to do this, because I'm paranoid about something going wrong (like you mentioned)... thanks!

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread but I wanted to verify the most current firmware. I just bought the HMC-150 and the camera says it's Version 2.21-00-0.00. However, on Panasonic's site it says the latest version (from 2010) is 1.21.
So do I have the latest version? Why the discrepancy?

Actually I'm glad you resurrected this thread. I too am wondering the same thing. After years of using the AG DVC80 I just recently bought the HMC-150 and am loving it. But my camera also says it's version is 2.21-00-0.00 so I'm wondering if I need to update and how to do it.

The HMC150 firmware was last updated in October of 2010, to version 1.21.

Tried to download the firmware update on my windows 8 PC, but got an error message "Panasonic DFU Intstall Wizard: 64 bit Windows is not supported."
(This follows my dismay to find that the AVCCAM Viewer can't download to Windows 8. I'm starting to feel embarrassed that Panasonic considers itself a technology company.)
Does anyone know how to update the HMC-150 firmware if you have a 64 bit PC?

HMC150 - Firmware - What is the most up-to-date firmware version for this camera?
