Alright so I've been noticing that when I shoot with my HPX170 with the Xtreme fisheye, I can clearly see the vignetting on camera. Once I log and transfer, however, the vignetting is gone, thus meaning FCP had to have cropped the image slightly. It's a minor crop, but enough to diminish some distortion. I'm wondering what the problem could be even though I log and transfer in a seemingly normal fashion. Help would be greatly appreciated!

I can safely say that there is no cropping that occurs during a Firewire transfer from your camcorder to your computer -- so something else is at work here. More likely a problem that is always there with the edge of frame on your viewfinder, but you only notice it when shooting with your fisheye. But rest assured that FCP does nothing to your material during transfer,
If you are unable to accept my bland assurances, use something else to do the transfer -- iPhoto will do the job, or iMovie -- then import the material into FCP ... it will be exactly the same.
Such is the glory of a digital transfer -- you get a bit for bit copy of what you had.
