I picked up a Canon M40. I love it, but I'm having some troubles with the editing. I had a panasonic sd9 camera and to edit the files I would rename the mts to avi so that I could bring them into Premiere CS3. I use coreavc for gpu decoding. Files would come in with pulldown removed and I could playback and scrub the timeline fine. When I do this with the Canon files my system just can't handle it and they come in at 29.97.
Any thoughts on why Panasonic and Canon files would behave differently, even at the same bitrate?
Is there any software that will let me edit the avchd files directly and do pulldown removal on PF24?
Sure, I can transcode and do pulldown removal in some other software, but not every project is worth the extra time it takes to work that way.
