Hey guys! Just some random shots from my 7D I put together during a 45 minute snow flurry in Buena Vista, CO. I would love to hear some comments/criticisms if you have any! I appreciate any advice.

Kudos for telling a story when I was expecting a random collection of shallow DOF snow shots. Well paced edit. What lens did you shoot the deer with? Did you use a blind?

Thanks Justin! I used the Sigma 70-200mm 2.8 lens for the deer shots (an amazing lens for the price). The deer here in Buena Vista are actually pretty hard to spook. I pretty much walked around them slowly at angles until I was close enough and had the background I wanted. They were fairly cooperative subjects!

Must be on private property and don't get hunted. I pay dearly in boot leather for every clip I get here on the front in Salt Lake

Great short! I was waiting for the timelapse of the snow piling up on the pine needle closeup! Next week

    Cheers,
    Pete

Thanks Pete. They definitely don't get hunted around town. We like to refer to them as Buena Vista squirrels around town since they seem to behave more like squirrels than skittish deer. I didn't mind their cooperation though! I thought about throwing in a timelapse, but it didn't really fit the mood of shooting. I'll be doing some for sure as the snow continues to fall.

Pre convert your music first to WAV or AIFF, then use in your timeline edit.. If your dragging the Mp3 onto your timeline you get that odd "pop" in exporting.
Other then that, everything looks great.

Can you share your camera settings and your export settings, thanks in advance.

Sure. This was actually my first time using the Neutral 0,-4,-2,0 picture style. I exported as a ProRes 422 1920x1080 mov. Hope that helps!

Was there crop marks on the 7D while you were shooting? if so, how did you put it there?
