Not THAT exactly... but has anyone ever thought about combining a Script Fest, with a Film Fest? So, you have a short period for Users to submit a script of say a specific duration, have the Users pick their fave and then open up up the Film Fest where everyone shoots their version of the chosen script? That might be pretty interesting (Has it been done here before?).

David, often script fest genres become the actual fest months later. the problem with doing it in conjunction, is that everyone would read the scripts and know the endings, knowing what to expect from each film.

I think the main problem comes from picking ONE script is that it gets repetitive and just annoying to watch the same stories over and over again, no matter how creative they are. diversity is good.

I can understand that, for sure. The one thing I say though is that even though the repetition of the story COULD be more than made up for by the huge diversity of filmmakers here on DVXUSER. I just thought it might be cool to see the differences of a tense drama scene, for example, made by filmmakers from say Atlanta, side by side with the same scene made by filmmakers from say Beirut, or Oslo and so forth.

But, just saying... you guys are doing a great job on the fests. Thanks.

anyone want to collaborate with me and my crew for the next fest? I am based in Portland Oregon. And I'll be filming my entry around those parts.

Best dialog, affordable, one location, that deals with an invention or an invitation. Obviously no one is ready for my really really big idea.
