Well, good luck to them. I have to say, though, that that's not a bet I would make.

From a business perspective, it makes perfect sense to me. Crumplepop will reduce its product development cost and increase its customer base.

A lot of good points in that blog post.
Seems like the company is in the best position to know what works for them.David S.

While I use several Crumplepop goodies and I wish them the best, FCPX is not in my future at this point.
I will continue to use FCP 7.0.3 and in my spare time re-learn Premiere.David W. Jones

Encouraging article. It seems reasonable that in a year, all the gaps and holes will be filled by either third party developers or Apple. I'd be willing to bet their prediction comes true. I don't see Steve Jobs not letting their prediction come true. It would cost Apple so little to maintain the FCP cache.

Well I said it before in another thread, in that I don't believe that Apple really cares about the Professional Editor (aka large production houses etc.)., as right now the money is in the masses for them, which is the large prosumer/consumer market.
The numbers are just there right for the picking for Apple to sell along with their MacBooks/Pro, iMacs, IPads, iPhones etc.
Now I believe that in the coming year that FCPX will mature and get the pro features that prosumers require. For myself that's better audio editing capability, multicam, selected in\out export from the timeline, slightly finessed color correction, and markers on the timeline (rather than clip based, as I still do deliver BluRay and DVD, and would rather place markers in my project rather than Compressor). For many these and a few other features are enough. For myself, I have done the Ripple Training tutorials as well as watched some additional online tips. And personally speaking I love the speed in which I am able to edit. I was never a fan of FCP7/Premiere etc. traditional timline based editing paradigm, as I always preferred to edit on the timeline, so FCPX seems more natural to me.
As I mentioned I still do quite a bit of offline delivery (aka hard DVD media) for event work. However much of my other cooperate work is pretty all destined for online delivery. So FCPX is very fast for me to pull of such edits and uploads. I know there are other programs such as Premiere that can do the same online delivery, but as I said I don't like the traditional A/B linear editor which Premiere/Avid etc are. As I loved using Sony Vegas on the PC side, but don;t want to go back to Windows again, and FCPX like Vegas works very similar so I'm happy. Happier with some enhancements, but can edit nicely enough on FCPX at this time for appropriate projects. For larger projects which require multicam work, I am sill using FCP7.

yes. it helps but when you want to stack many layers upwards it still gets messy. i even make each layer its own storyline and it helps to a degree but not much. attached is a very typical 10 camera shoot synced to an H4n audio track. trying to do this in X and have every track stay in its track/storyline just gets out of hand. things want to fall downward if you leave a hole for it to fall in. would love to really solidly get around this but have yet to find a real solution/back door in FCPX. X really wants you to do it their way and none other. there are things i like really like about FCPX but this is seemingly going to be the unpassable wall im afraid.
