Couldn't agree more with the Vimeo idea. I too don't like my movies being downloaded. Plus it would be easy to go back and watch the old fests.
Plus it would be cool to be able to go to a user's page and watch all of their movies. Maybe they have really grown as a filmmaker and you could watch their progress through their older movies.
*edit: Not to mention the stupid 100MB thing always kicks my ass, I don't know why. With Vimeo I have settings in my software specifically for vimeo and it seems to work.

I was just reminded of the fest. Been busy freelance writing - ugh. I'll be watching films this week and giving straight forward feedback without bias. It will be from a writer's point of view and overall storytelling point of view. I have always believed that straight talk feedback is better than a polite pat on the back. Writers are harsh on feedback, so I consider this forum a kiddie pool compared to the shark tank of writer's forum feedback.
Can't wait to see your work guys. Sorry I didn't comment on a single thread. This has been a tough year - bleh."Imagination is more important than knowledge." - Albert Einstein

I agree with the OP. We're all here for constructive criticism, but sometimes people don't take it well because they weren't aware of that other viewpoint. But that's what these fests are about. Learn from yourself, others, and have fun while doing it without getting offended.

Correction, I'll also talk about shots and whatever I can find. If I don't talk enough about your story then you'll know why.
